Disappearing Achievements

Some of my achievements are disappearing from the game achievement page (within the game itself) and from my total gamer score but they are still shown as completed when I look at each game summary from the main gamertag summary on the dashboard. This happened most recently on Left 4 Dead after I accepted an update although it has happened in other games as well. Are these losses related to updates on the games. Any solutions or do I need to recomplete all lost achievements ? More anoying than disasterous........

No not anytime since last RROD console failure (#5 for me) several months ago, only recent change was downloading and applying an update on L4D. I did lose some achievemnets after my last gametag recover from mentioned console failure. Any solution for those lost achievements?

Your losing achievements due to the L4D update is common to some people. I think it has something to do with the 10 new achievements coming to L4D with the new DLC and Valve just messed up somewhere with the update. That my rambling though.
