or, get 100 alteration (you can get it in a few hours by just casting a shield spell over and over) and when you get into the university you can make a open very hard lock spell.

What sword. Look if you are level 10 or higher,do as Pvt. said and find the skeleton key.(search for it on google cause I don't wanna explain)
If you are under level 10 then here is the best way to lockpick:
Keep pressing up on the tumbler so that it keeps going up,and wait until it rises slowly. when it rises slowly thats when you press A...Not when it rises fast you get me?

yeah thanks. anyway, i found the sword, it was a second chance christophe gave me to be in the guild, now im trying to find this skeleton key, ive read all about it but it says in the ciry on Leyawiin i take the east road to north and i have to find a sign saying "Country Kvatch" which i havnt done so yet but surley its wrong as Kvatch is the other side of the map to Leyawiin???

Find an online map that shows you where everything is. You have to find Nocturnals shrine and do the quest for her. You have to be level 10 to do it.
And what is this sword you're talking about? Cause when Methredrel beat me to the book she didn't take the book to Armand she just kept it so I stole it from her.

yeah but i didnt steal it in time back from her, i went to sleep for 12 o clock and about 9pm a note came up saying she gave it in, i must go see christophe for a second chance.. but dont worry now i found the sword. im just looking for this key, im on level 12 now so i should be able to find it..

Well She's in the house which the red arrow points to and she sleeps during the day so go there during midday and open it, I had to kill someone who was in there with her but that seemed to be alright. Another way of getting lockpicks is to do the multiplication glitch but I won't say it incase I get kicked from here or something.
