normaly i just keep starting over saving the first couple of people cause there easy and right by the vent thing and then go get killed do it again etc. . .. just building up my levels that way...seems to be working but BLAH its annoying as hell!

The trick is to hand them weapons. Also make sure you grab that sword in 'Paradise Plaza' on the cafe oning {it's on the second level where you get the orange juice, you need to jump out the window and land on the oning}.

I just played through the game again, once you know the Mall and how the game works, it's easy.

Also when you beat Adam the Clown you not only get the coveted Mini-Chainsaw, but you also get a key card to stop the Roller Coaster, once you do that you will be saving people with no problem. If your holding hands or carrying some one the zombies wont attack you.

And if you go to the Gun Shop and start carrying shotguns, life is easy, Swords and shotguns. Then murder those dam convicts!!!
If you have any questions let me know, I'm no expert like the thread starter, but I have a good understanding.

How do you hand them your weapons?

How do you escort them? I came up to many hostages and they just walk around and I press action to talk to them and they just run in circles. Then they attack me, I feel like I'm playing with retards.

I killed the convicts and boom they respawned later on in the game. That really pissed me off.

Im also a Pro at this game, i have all 50 achievements, but you still seem to have more to go, im just saying ya know. But its you try to help others.

the game is easy once you figure out a method that works for you... usually when escorting i use Adam the Clown's chainsaw and clear out the path for my survivors, then once outside you can stay in the shadowed area right next to the wall and the zombies seem to be afraid of shadows. Anyways, this game is over a year old now, what is with the talk?

Just to bring this intresting thread back alive : )

I recently bought dead rising and was wondering the best way of rescuing hostages, do you seriously have to escort them all the way back to the security room in the plaza you start of in?

It is extremely annoying as its such a long way all the time and i keep getting killed by them retards on the jeep outside when escorting.

Any advice on this please?

Get The sniper straight away on day one and a soon as the convicts come. Pound a shit load of head shots in to each one. Problem is, i killed them on day 2 and they came back on day 3.

The convicts come back each night... that part sucks.. BUT go get the mega man blaster (for doing Zombie Genocider)... makes those convicts SOO easy. One shot each, BOOM! Dead. Done.

Good game...Once you get familiar with the game it becomes pretty easy. As soon as you know where the weapons are you do fine. The first thing you should do is go to the gun shop...or look online and find out where there are guns hiding in the mall and you'll own those convicts.
Also the best weapon at the beginning of the game is the Sword and the Axe. Go out of the Warehouse door into Paradise Plaza and turn right go up the stairs and on your left there is a Cafe. Jump out the window on the overhang and the sword is there...Then go into Wonderland Plaza and go to the book store on the second level and grab the Criminal book, it will make any blade weapon last longer.

You've probably figured all this out by the time I typed this...
