Call Of Duty 2: Veteran Survival Guide
Thought I might do this, as the difficulty is insanely hard and a few strategies will make your lives easier (after the first 10 times you die during one firefight)
Tips & Strategies:
- Crouch as much as you can, the smaller your surface area exposed to your enemy, the less chance you have of being hit.
- Try not to lay down as this exposes your head as pretty much the only target for your enemy. This will result in quick deaths.
- Use cover to your advantage, popping up when the enemy reloads or goes back into hiding. This means you will have your gun ready and aimed so that as soon as the enemy commences firing, he obscures the sights and you can deal with him before he gets a shot off.
- Use your comrades to your advantage, many of them are a good advantage and will act as Human Flash. - "Does the job so you don't have to." Remember: The less enemies YOU encounter, the less risk there is of you being killed.
- When combating tanks, eliminate any enemy forces around it, as they will take you out when trying to apply sticky bombs. Once this is done, smoke grenade the area so you can sneak up on the tank and apply the bombs. If this fails or you have run out of smoke grenades, learn its patyh of travel as one of the Panzers in Stalingrad knows where you are and will frantically try and avoid you. When the tank moves, be ready to charge to where it will stop so you can intercept it and attatch the bomb before it fires or drives off.
- Take out greatest threats first. (Tanks, MG42s, Panzerschreks, Halftracks and Snipers) as there is less risk of you being killed if the greater threats are eliminated.
- Use grenades to kill whenever you can. They can kill multiple enemies and you can be in hiding waiting for a shot while it does its job.
- Use smoke grenades whenever you can as whole groups of enemies can be evaded, meaning you do not have to encounter them, meaning there is less chance of you being killed.
- Force enemies into cover. This allows you to track their movements easier and kill them when they run to other forms of cover or reveal themselves to fire.
- Always keep a machine gun in one slot - if close combat is required (as you can dispatch many enemies quickly and accuracy is not an issue up close), and a snipe rifle or a rifle such as the Kar98 which allows a limited zoom as you can pick off enemies from a distance. This is also the best non-sniper rifle as it is accurate and powerful.
- Make sure every *kill* is a KILL as some Germans just won't die. LOL
- Finally, when controlling a tank in the "Tank Squadrons" campaign, always remain on the move. Refrain from being stationary as you make yourself a sitting duck. Zoom past, relatively close to the Panzers and fire direct hits at the rear or the side. (Their armour is strongest at the front) If you do feel the urge to stay still, shoot from a distance of group yourselves with other tanks as there is less chance of them picking on you.
Have Fun and STAY ALIVE!!!!!

Unfortunately for both of us, I started Veteran after you, hence this coming after. LOL We both know how hard this is, so I decided to write a mini guide using tactics I found successful.
As for thanking me, NP! .... Trying to help the many people i know will want those 1000 GamerPoints
