cod2 - Hill 400 veteran last part

I beated the game allready on easy but im now on the last part of hill 400 with veteran difficulty. WOW this is really impossible

. Cant you hide somewhere?

I tried to take out the mortars but if I walk towards them to snipe them the germans are everywhere! Does somebody ahs tips or a strategie for this?

Follow round the edge of the hill beside the barb wire and there is little bunkers from there you can snipe them pretty easily. The last level crossing the Rhine is far harder in Veteran however

crossing the rine? no man I played it in veteren. its easier

Mine must have messed up during check points but I took out all the mortors and then it said to wait for help and I played for a solid 30min with no help or check points. I did this over and over and it never ended until I restarted the level and then when I got to that point again a 5 min timer came on.

Just be aware that this could happen to you and if it does you need to restart the level or it will never end!

Just stay in the trenches that surround the bunkers perimiter and shoot the mortars from there, and since you're in the trenches, you can hide under one of the little roofed overhangs when the mortar attacks start. Other than that when you have to fight the troops and the tank, stay close to your squad. Let's say you're facing the front of the bunker, on the left side of it is where I found it best to stay there with your team and they'll do a lot of killing to help you out. Whenever the Tank comes, there's a Panzershweck (rocket launcher) by the crates in front of the bunker...just wait at the same left side of the bunker for him to roll around and blast him. The rest is basically staying with your squad on the side.

You can stay in the bunkers for the morters (most of them) and holding the hill. Make sure when they make their push that you're in a bunker with an MG42 and make sure that you back out every time a grenade hits (frequently) You can stay there. I was also fortunate enough to be in the bunker that the tiger comes next to. (easy kill)

P.S Crossing the Rhine was almost a piece of piss.
