In desperate need of assistance

Hey all, newbie here.

I recently bought the retail set with SI and Knights of the Nine for oblivion. I followed the prompts, installed it on my HDD and it said that eveything was installed. I even checked the system memory and sure enough, SI and KotN were installed in the 'games' subsection.

So, I put in the Oblivion disk (like it says), loaded a game, and waited for 24 hours for SI to start (like it says). Nothing happened. So, I went to Anvil to check if KotN had started (like it says), and nothing happened.

I have tried with 4 separate loads for 4 different characters, and nothing happens. I've deleted and reinstalled the SI data from the disk twice, still nothing happens.

Anyone know whats going on?

If u don't have GOTY edition than that might be the problem. It seems that Bethesda put special code in the GOTY edition so that the expansions only work with it.

There could also be another reason. Check you active quests and look for "A door in Niben Bay," the pop-up for Shivering Isles may not have activated properly. Also, Knights of the Nine does not have a pop-up, you have to go to the Anvil Chapel to start the quest.

Does your game show "Loading Additional Content" for a couple of minutes when you load the game at start-up? Once Shivering Isles is installed, this takes at least 2 minutes to complete every time you start up the game.

I have teh same problem! I bought SI and got home. Tehen realised i needed oblivion. WEnt out next day and bought it. Put shivering isles in did updatte blahblahblah installed, There Was Much Rejoicing. Put Oblivion in and on main menu it sais something like loading extra content. Loaded up my lvl3 did w8 24hours. Nothing. another 24 hours. nothing. Does this mean i got ripped off? coz i got from Game and i cant take back coz i already opened the box. If so im going to get my mum to sue either Ubisoft, Game or Xbox360
