xbox live and windows messanger problem

ok so everytime i log into windows live messanger on my xbox, and start talking to a windows live contact, it uses an old msn screen name from many months ago, any one know why ? or how to fix it ?

i wouldnt be so bothered, but the msn name has stuff in about my ex girlfriend so its a tad embarasing lol
