Help with ROCKBAND special Edition

I just got rockband for my 360 today. i bought it as is off ebay with no instructions. It seems to work and it was cheap. anyways why do I have to plug guitar, mic and drums into that USB hub? Cant it be wireless? what is that USB for power? im new to this game and the 360 so bare with me? Can i buy a wireless adapter or kit for all 3? Plus my mic doesnt seem to get recognized. Is ther ebatteried for mic to?

The microphone is controlled by your 360 controller. I never use the mic so I simply plug my drums/guitar into the 360 itself without the hub. The hub is there for your convience of not having to use the third USB input on the back. You do not need the hub, the 360 has 3 USB ports, two on the front, and one on the back. You can't convert them to wireless. Again, if you plug your microphone in, your 360 controller controls it other than singing. You can also use the MINI rca included to sing into the headset whilst plugged into the guitar/drums. This help?

Yes thanks. this helps. but wheres the USB ports on the front? I have a xbox 360 pro with 20 gig hard drive. its white. All i see is 2 memory card slots or whatever.wheres the USBS?

If this is a serious question, turn your 360 vertical (stand it up so it is taller than it is wide......

) and you'll see the usb door under the power button.

The hub is for convenience. Just plug the hub into one slot, and if you have 4 people, you can just plug all 4 instruments into the hub, and use either a wireless or wired controller to control the mic as well.

And no, there's no way to switch to wireless (unless you buy a wireless guitar).

The ps2 rock band came with a wireless guitar. why couldn't the 360 version have it too? :\
