Question Wartech: Everything About It Is my Question

I know normally you should post your general subject in your thread title, so I did.

I purchased Wartech for $20. I thought it was like Mechwarrior but a fighting game. The characters looked anime based, which made the game look even more appealing to purchase.

So as I mentioned, I bought it.

I brought it home, turned it on, and was basically turning my head to the side thinking, "what the hell did I just buy?"

The characters are talking in Japanese with subtitles, the character that I was playing (one of the girls) is wanting to destroy more stuff, and this is just making this game seem totally weird.

So after thinking about what I just purchased, I hit a few buttons. Wondering what did what, I do it again. I don't normally read instruction booklets - I try and figure the game out myself, or I end up going through tutorials - with the 360 there's usually an achievement for that (Gears of War, level one of TMNT anyone?).

Anyways, I still feel lost in the game so I decide to give up and pause the game and pull out the instruction manual. I go over to the weapons and attacking area and I thought it would've been more basic than I thought - there's totally different terms for everything, it just, was weird.

So my question to you guys is - has anyone truly figured out this game?

The little gold that is Wartech...

This is a game for a specific audience, it is not for everyone, I like it a lot though, but I understand how it could be weird to almost everybody.

For starters, this game was never explained as to what it was, so don't feel bad that you were tricked into buying it. I read a bunch of negative reviews that didn't explain what it was at all, just that they didn't like it, those people were just as confused as you {and me at first}.

This game is a 2d shooter like Aegis Wing, Ikiruga, or Omega Five. 2D shooters are known for there Boss battles {at least the good ones are}. This game is in essence a 2d Boss battle game.

But it is a one on one fighting game set in a 2d shooter.
It was an arcade game that was pretty big in Japan, it was made on the Naomi Arcade Board {that is basically Dreamcast hardware}. A sequel is coming out in Japan soon.

The problem with fighting games is you need some one to play with for them to really be fun. What you need to do is learn the basics, like how the B.O.S.S. system works; it should say in the booklet {I know you looked through it, but I don't remember off hand}. There are two circles around your character, those gauge your ammo. I never did under stand how the throws worked, such as who wins in a throw.

Your best bet for info would be to check gamefaqs.com and that should give you a good heads up.

If you would like add me and we can play 'OS marXmon'; I haven't played much because I don't have anybody to play with, I can use to dust it off and play again.
Go through the move list for what ever characters you like and see what they do. Also experiment with the boost button, it does become fun when you figure it out.

Sorry for the late post, was just reviewing my past posts and noticed this one.

I'll have Live up within the next month hopefully, so yeah we could have a game sometime no problem.

Is it really that unpopular here in North America?

2D shooters are generally unpopular in North America, but huge in Asia. Hopefully I will still have my Live up {I should}. Just send me a friends request when you get it up and going, and we'll make it happen.
