Thanks for the suggestion, but I returned the darn thing for a refund and got a ethernet bridge instead. Worked like a charm on the 1st attempt with no problems whatsoever. With regards to the adapter: MS must have decided to create their wifi adapter with completely different wifi protocols to any other wifi product on the market, or , they made a bad batch for whatever reason.
