Not at all. oblivion is an RPG, Zelda was an action/adventure. You have stats and skills that you level up in Oblivion. and you get to create your own character.

I guess Oblivion can be compared to (a) Zelda game because they're both extremely fun RPG (series) and both take place around the Dark Ages (I think).

Zelda is indeed an action RPG. Oblivion redefined action RPGs... they are both NOT true RPGs.
