^^i'd rather have matchmaking as well. Much smoother and even playing fields. Just a way better system IMO.

This isnt PC games in the 90's any more. Matchmaking is where its at.
"I cant pick the maps I want to play." They f'n rotate! Your fav will come up. Its called diversity.

ROFL, man, I honestly can't believe people prefer to NOT have matchmaking...

EDIT: THanks, MrSchmo. I hate that in lobby based games, only people's FAVORITE maps get played. It leads to less fair, less consistent games, and ultimately is LESS FUN than playing Matchmaking. Plus games with matchmaking like H3 and COD4 give you a VETO option if you absolutely HATE the map that came up, although it probably just means you're bad at it. LOL I hate the maps that I'm worst at in halo, but guess what, I get better at them when they come up in matchmaking

They must like waiting in a room, waiting for someone to join there 20th Gridlock game. Only to get in the room and be booted by the host.

Oh that was fun. I'd still play Gears if it had matchmaking. The lobby system made me quit.

^Ditto. Lack of matchmaking and a ranking system in game that I could see.... AND host lag. Sounds like all 3 will be fixed, and GoW2 will be off the hook!

I love games that have rank, it gives me incentive to do well, it adds longevity and rewards me for good play. This is why I love H3, COD4, and even Mario Kart Wii.. b/c I have an ONLINE RANKING that I can build up by winning!

Outside of matchmaking, any ranking system is convoluted at best. You may be the top clan in the world.... AT ONE MAP! ROFL. Play matchmaking against an array of opponents on an array of maps and your skill will truely be tested. If you want to play the same map over and over, sure play a game with a lobby system, and think you're better than you really are b/c you are amazing at ONE map.

Matchmaking SHOULD be the industry standard. I'm tired of people who love GoW so much pretending that they think the LOBBY system is the way to go. Lame.

I like matchmaking, but what I do not like is not being able to put a map search rule.

I spent 3 month playing Halo 3, and never played one or two maps. Rofl.

Same with COD4.
