Thats what I hated about it. Shotgun fest. made the ame really gay. But I guess you like that sort of thing.

yea i liked it,
thats exactly it, for those who didnt like the shotgun dueling thing (like yourself) this game type would be awesome,

Everything you said you wanted or have suggested is in Halo 3. just play halo, its already got em  let gears be gears and halo be halo.

You misunderstood... I don't want GoW to be Halo... in fact, I want nothing of the sort. I want GoW to begin to utilize the things about online gaming that Halo is making standard: parties, deep customization, etc...

I think this would be a good idea.
Halo everybody starts with the same weapon also, so this is a really good idea.
it would also be nice if you , at the start, PICK which one you want to be. If you go in a game late, and the positions are already filled, sucks to be you
