Weapons required: - Lancer or Sniper Rifle (Longshot)
- Torque Bow
- Grenades
- Plenty of ammo
Immediately take cover behind the concrete block infront of you. Take out the torque bow and charge it up. Aim it Raam and let it rip. The arrow will stick to Raam for some time and then explode. This will disperse the kryll which surrounds Raam acting as a shield. At this point, either get your Lancer or Longshot and unload some lead at that mofos head. Rinse and repeat. 5-6 well placed sniper head shots will see him down. If Ramm gets too close, shoot from behind cover by just pressing the RT button only and align yourself with the clear aisle of the train leading to the other side. Jump over the block and Roadie run to the other side where there is another concrete block. Always stick to the light as this offers the only protection against the kryll. If you run out of torque arrows, the grenade also works.

My buddy and I finally beat him on insane the other day. The secret it seems is to use the torque bow even when the kryll are off. I even managed to get in a fully charged up shot. My buddy only hit him about 4 times with the sniper, so that means it had to have been the torque bow that did most of the damage.
To get more torque bow ammo, go to campaign, load previous chapter, and load the RAAM chapter. It'll start you with a TB, and so the one in the train can be used for extra ammo.
Other than that, just pay attention to how much damage you're taking.

If you can somehow use the turret without having the bats kill you; light him up and once you get it, it should cause him/the bats to not attack to his death.

I beat him easily on Co-op(I never beat the game on single player). Just have your partner at one end of the cart while you get past Raam and get to the turret. Shoot awat untill he dies. Dont foget to take cover when the Krills attack. This might work on single player but I'm not sure.

I used grenades to scare off the Kryll, then used the Sniper Rifle to shoot him in the head.
As he got closer I just peppered him with the lancer. When he is almost on top of you, leg it to the opposite block and repeat the process.
He'll be down in no time!!

Glad to see this finally sticky-ed! But can we limit this to strategies that actually work?
Here's the strategy I've given quite a few times, and I guarantee it works:
Make sure you pick up the Torque Bow and all the ammo for the Lancer before you go through the door to face Raam.
First and foremost, stay behind the very first block! Running around will get you killed the quickest, so stay under the light and you'll be fine.
Wait for him to get a little closer, and then start hitting him (aim for his head) with the TB. It's usually best to wait for the times when he walks into the light and the Kryll disperse...this keeps you from wasting TB arrows on the Kryll. As he gets closer, the best thing is to charge up the TB without holding the left trigger. Wait until it's charged, stand up and quickly aim for his head. Repeat until he gets to the other side of the block. At this point, use the same aiming method, but don't stand up to shoot him. You can blindfire your remaining TB arrows without having to worry about aiming a lot.
Now, Raam will try to come around the block. At that point, simply jump over the block and get back into cover on the other side. You have to be quick about it, but once you get the timing right you'll be set.
Once you're out of TB arrows, switch to the Lancer. You can blindfire the Lancer, but angle to camera to where you're aiming at his head. Make sure you hit the active reloads, and keep blasting him with the Lancer. Usually, he will send the Kryll off several times in a row, especially if he hangs out in the light. If the Kryll stay around him, now's the time to use your grenades. You should have all 4 at this time, so try to space them out around the times the Kryll leave on their own.
You may die a few times, especially until you get the timing on the jump over the block down, but you'll fare a helluva lot better than trying to run across the train. And using the Troika may work for Casual, but don't even bother on Hardcore or Insane. Keep practicing and killing Raam will be easy as pie.

ok i had the problem with killing raam on hardcore...until.......i realized that if u tell Dom to "cease fire" that raam wont even come after you =]
but you'll still need to get the torque bow and the sniper...use the torque bow(or frags) to get the kryll off of him and then light his head up with the sniper rifle 5-6 times and he's done....REAL EASY!!

I've found that when hes at a distance, and you're behind the block you first come to when you are out of the door; run out of the light (and cover) to a dark section for a second. Doing this will cause all the Kryll to leave RAAM and come flying all the way over to the dark portion you were at. Meanwhile, you will have run back to cover immediately after the kryll leaves him and begin hitting him with sniper shots to the head. You usually can get about 3 shots in before the Kryll get back to him (if you don't mess up your reload). I found with the Torque bow the bats weren't off of him for very long, and I couldn't get as many shots in.
