I'm not saying that Forza 3 will be better then GT5, but if it does end up better then GT5, won't you be incredibly annoyed that it has taken so long?

No, not really. I doubt the Forza team spends there days at the test track with these cars to get the realism down. They pumped out these forza games to fast for that to happen. Dont get me wrong, I think Forza will be good game, but I think GT5 will be unbelievable.

Fair enough, If I owned a PS3 i'd most likely get both, as the last GT game I played was GT3, and I loved the experiance it gave.

tbh i think Forza 3 will be better, but GT5 will sell more with it being one of Sony's flagship titles.
