Would anyone like to explain the DLC?

I didn't buy the first add on but i hear you can buy the new and the old togeather when the new one is released. Also, is the new DLC on disc or through XBL?

I really like this game, even though I haven't bothered getting much Achievements for it I really enjoyed playing this and it's a shame I don't play it as much as I used to. I used to go online a lot but now I've not bothered. I was going to get Episodes but I've decided to just leave it. The annoying thing is I still need to buy The Lost and Damned to get the extra Achievements on GTA IV.
