For those complaining about the game being dark
In most games when you go into options and turn the brightness up it makes it bright but washes the picture out. GTA is a bit different.
When you go into options it does not wash out the picture, instead it makes the ambient lighting brighter. so the whole game is brighter without sacrificing color.
So turn the brightness up and stfu

How does it brighten ambient light without washing out colors? If that actually works, then that's pretty cool.

It does wash out colors in the day. You need to keep the brightness a few levels back for a better picture. Still the game is tooooooooo dark. There shouldnt be areas where the screen is black. You can walk in to an apartment building and you wont even know a guy is standing on the stairs.......until he pops a few rounds your face.

I haven't found any problems with the brightness.

You guys are so dumb it amazes me.

When I go to a public bathroom I always have a feeling those sensors in the stall (which make the toilet flush automatically) are actually cameras watching my penis.

In real life if your driving down the street when its dark, without your headlights on, can you see?
Maybe this is a PS3 issue cause my lighting is fine. I bumped it up a notch or two but thats all.

well i mean when its dark the colors are gonna be more accurate, I mean shine a flashlight on your desk, notice the colors are not as vibrant. But it just does not seem to wash the colors out more then more light realistically would.
The lighting in the game seems pretty accurate to me, I guess for some its just to accurate.

the contrast control is also different. maybe it's just reversed? it's hard to tell, but turning up 'contrast' doesn't have the effect i'd expect to get from turning up contrast.
i'm not complaining, after tinkering with it for a few minutes i found a really nice balance and haven't had any issues since.

lol you have the magically copy of the game that never freezes and has no brightness problem. If there isn't a problem with freezes and brightness then why were these threads made?

Ok, are you stupid. These people have tried that, they're smart if they're willing to pay $60 for a game
