It's amazing how many people don't know this stuff. While it's exaggerated in GTA a little, the basic principles still apply.
Like when I was playing Forza the other day with a mate who just bought his 360. He couldn't believe I could make it around a single lap without any driving aids turned on, let alone win a race. His first question was: How do you make it around corners without spinning out?

So I explained to him the basic rules of the handbrake, counter steering and accelerating out, as well as apexes. I asked him how he couldn't know any of this from having fun in a real car like any other male in their mid 20's. He drives a little Mazda 323, so naturally he's never experienced any of this in real life!

I think the original GT almost helped me learn to drive correctly. And Faster.

Well, as you have first hand experince from escaping from angry drivers/cops your bound to know, but to us small helpless children we're new to thing realm of driving.

Ditto. Little break, get the car in my sights and then bounce off it. What's the point of driving correct??? You're supposed to crash. If your car catches fire, get out, and get a new one. Big deal.
