Not being able to fly planes was sort of a let dow--but car customization would be a lot more realistic than being able to fly planes... Helicopters are enough, IMO.
This game is called Grand Theft Auto, car customization would seem customary. Saints Row's car customization was really good--i thought Rockstar would have trumped theirs with a lot more--but it turns up, nothing.
Hopefully in the DLC they'll change that. But i hate seeing some cars ride around like the Cavalade with gold rims and a trunk full of subs... and i've even seen a landstalker with tint all around, and LCDs in the headrests.
Planes would've been nice, they were in SA, so u'd think they'd be in IV.

The city's too small for planes.. and where would you land, you can't jump out either because of no parachute.
I do agree though that car customization should have been left in, I really can't understand why they'd take that out.

Maybe if there hadn't been so many prepubescents making 9/11 mods for GTA:SA and posting vids all over youtube with things like CS's "Terrorists Win" playing when it crashes into one of the towers, we might actually have them in this version. Personally, I don't think plane flying was all that fun to begin with.
For all the improvements GTA IV made over the previous offerings, it's a negligible item.
