I heard on the grape vine, that they removed it because people flew int buildings the recorded it and posted on youtube calling them GTA 911.

You're kinda late on that buddy. It was confirmed a long time ago that there wasnt going to be any planes in the game. But there is helicopters though.

I will admit that although the jets in SA were fun to drive, you couldn't do a whole lot with them in term of ground damage..although dogfights were always fun. But when you look at it in terms of reality, a person can't just hop in a plane and fly it...that and with the G-forces you pull off in a fighter jet, w/o a G-suit you could get K/O in some cases. Also, I don't think there are really any military bases in NYC (correct me if I'm wrong, haven't exactly been there yet)
Although it is the same for a heli...IMO the heli appears a bit easier to actually fly...as well, Niko's military background could give reason why he is able to fly a chopper, but you could say the same w/ planes as well...although I think they would've said if Niko was actually a fighter pilot or not...although that type of character wouldn't exactly fit into the GTA story. All IMO btw

firstly rockstar did say there would be no planes, so i'm surprised that people are getting upset with it. and they did make a valid point as to why.

liberty city has only one airport, where else would you land??

DLC for xbox360 will include new islands so there may be a chance of plane-age! so hold on to your testicles boys, we may be in for a surprise!!
