My intro flight a bit ago confirmed that video games taught me enough to fly and I knew pretty much everything we went over before flying (the very basics). The instructor had to land of course, but I even managed to line up and do the approach. Wings started wobbling on the last 50' or so and the instructor took over. It's just like Indiana Jones, "I didn't know you could fly a plane!" "Fly? Yeah. Land? No."

I'm in the "GTA:IV doesn't need planes" camp. I really don't see what it would add, especially since I'm already getting bored of goofing around in the chopper.

While I really don't give a crap if someone can recreate 9-11, I understand it's a sensitive subject. Hopefully everyone can let go eventually. Yeah, 9-11 was bad... It was also almost 7 years ago and has been used as an excuse for all sorts of human rights violations. Maybe if people could move on a bit they would see that until people move on they are just giving more power to people who obviously abuse it.

the source is from many, the one i can get my hands on atm is Gamervision - How Gamers See the World - Video Game News - Rumour - GTA IV DLC Will Be New Cities?!?!

I'm not saying there WILL be planes, i'm just hoping there will be if their intending to give us new "cities" or new "islands".

Microsoft payed rockstar something like 2 million for the exclusive DLC rights to GTA4. they suggested it'd be small islands like the ones around New York, but i cannot remember atm which ones.

i've heard rumours that DLC will be available as early as sept/oct 2008, but more realistic values have put them in the region of 2009ish!

anyhow, dispute if you wish, i'm not trying to build up hope here!

Why is this even a topic. There are no planes, there is no point of a plane. Flying from one endd to the other would take 10 seconds.

For those who say I want to fly planes, go play Ace Combat.

Because some people, like a friend of mine, have lost one of their parents in that tragedy. I do not see how planes would have made the game better. That was an asinine statement you made.
