Can't connect to GTA multiplayer game & Private chat problem

Hi, I wondered if someone can help me?

I am connected to XBL fine, no problems but then when I go onto one of my friends profiles, then click private chat it says- 'invite sent' then it would disappear after a few seconds. They say that they haven't received anything from me because I've spoke to them on msn after.

The same thing happens if someone tries to contact me via this way.

I've gone onto the settings and everything is allowed so it shouldn't be blocking anything like this.

2/ When we are both on GTA:4, he sets up a match then sends me an invite- when I try and connect it says that I'm 'unable to connect to a multiplayer game, you are going to be returned to single player mode'


Any help would be appreciated.
