I prefer San Andreas, especially because of that insane multiplayer mod they released on the PC version.

As far as I'm concerned, GTA is GTA...Looking at the bigger picture I don't see any change, just progress.
Sure on a whim to one side or the other some people might have a favorite, but I think ever since GTA 3 it's been like a world-wide holiday each time a GTA game is released.
I guess the game being "next-gen" and all might be a big step forward (obviously through natural evolution) as was GTA 3... and one thing that's been annoying me is, a lot of people are saying IV doesn't "look" next-gen etc...I think they nailed the next-gen feeling incredibly in the most stylish way I've seen so far.

thing with GTA 4 they've sacrifised gameplay for graphics, imo they haven't found the balance as Call of duty 4 did

gta4 actually has decent aiming and cover system. i could never play san andreas after gta4

They should have added parachutes, I mean your standing on top of the Empire State building, what else is there to do? (Building jumping)

i remember i would go crazy for sa coulden't wait to get home to play it, all i did was mess around and shoot people. i agree gta iv is much more realistic and has better places like alqonquin much more like ny. the missions are easier, but i would have to go with sa much more fun especially on pc with all the mods and things.

The things you've named to be able to do in San Andreas were just unnecessary and quite boring at times. Although I will admit that the 'sandbox' feature of the GTA series is a bit sparse in number 4.
Nonetheless, great gameplay, great graphics, great physics, great characters and story = Greater game.

naw man gtaIV is waaaaay better then sa
and i too love the realistic approach they brought to this one, i love the driving man its so fun  i love the ferrire (sp i know) style cars
i think the addiction level for this gta is far better then when sa first game out.. even this weekend wen i stopped round a m8s i kept randomly thinking bout gta lol
