Bored of GTA?

I can't exactly put my finger on it, but I just cant get into GTA IV.

It's sort of like when you finally pluck up the courage to ask out the girl you've always fancied. The first few days/weeks are pretty good, but then complacency sets in. You get home from work and she's waiting there for you. You talk to her for a little bit, but you're really not interested in what she has to say. Finally, you stop having sex with her altogether and you end up regretting the decision to ask her out in the first place.

Anyway, enough of my personal problems.

I've only done about 25% of the game, but I really can't be arsed to do any more. Sure the graphics are great and the map is huge, but I just don't get the feeling that I used to when playing the old GTA's. I'm thinking of jacking it all in and buying a Wii (not really).

Anyone else feel this way?

me neither, i aint even off the first island. I think i'm just off games as a whole at the moment, prefer to just watch a film or peep show.

I'll probably try again when i get back off my hols, i just can't be arsed at the moment playing games....

was bored of gta many moons ago.
i prefer the more complex and deeper games.

im in the same situation... bought it, played it for a few hours.. stopped playing and just cant be f*cked playing anymore.. like the OP said, its got good graphics and whatever else but im just bored of it? i havent even played the games i used to play daily like halo3 or guitar hero 3.. kind of over games atm.. dont understand what it is either.

i'm in the same position, i just can't bring myself to go on my ps3 & if i do i'm bored within about 5-10mins. I went through a faze like this when i had my 360, but i ended up selling that..hopefully i'll resist the urge to sell my ps3.

Once I finished up the story everything else there was left to do just seemed tacked on and shallow plus the second you start something even slightly fun the cops are on you within seconds, I wish you could turn them off.

I'm in the same boat, we should start a club!

I'm 41% done but that was after having the time to sit and play for a long time this weekend. I bought it on release and I know people that bought it way later and have completed it already. They always ask me if I dont like it or if I'm just horrible.

There is no sense of accomplishment, when I sit and play for hours on end I still have a feeling like I havent really done anything or advanced in the story. Too many friggon phone calls too, the dating/pool playing thing was cool in the begining but now it's just kind of annoying.

I played all the other GTA's but cant get into this one, I thought that might be the case and I almost didnt buy it but I gave in. I have slowly been going back to some of my other games and spending less time with GTA.

I'm 41% into also, but want to see it through. Haven't gotten any of the "assassin" missions. Are those in MP only? Or, is it one of the characters w/i who assigns them?

Not really bored with it as much as I just can't seem to make myself play it for more than an hour at a time. I see where Sears (can I say this? ) has $20 off on COD 4! I'm going to go get it.

I'm the opposite, sitting for an hour and playing doesnt seem to get me any where in the story. Maybe I'm slow (playing the game) but I have to play for a long time to get any where.

Then again, I lose track what I should be doing and who I should be contacting for the main story (side missions throw me off), then if I fail a mission once or twice I get tired of having to do it all over again. I think I started off doing too many things at once.

COD is a good buy, one of my favorites. Short single player campaign though.
