GTA4 = a dissapointment?

I wasn't disappointed, I do not believe it deserved a 10. However, it is a fun game and free mode rocks!

Yeah nine is a great score for it. I think the ten should be reserved for GOW2 !

How can you say that when the game is 6 months out? I dont think GOW2 will deserve a perfect score either. As nothing will be perfect.

I found it to be a dissapointment. The missions got way too repetitive, especially towards the end, which is why I haven't finished it yet. Drive here, kill this guy and some guards, look out you have stars now so run away; drive here, chase this guy, then kill him. I'm on mafia missions and the story just feels like it's getting no where. I don't care about these Italian nutjobs; I want to learn more about whoever betrayed Niko. The whole reasonhe came to America in the first place!

Online play reminds me of Saints Row which was loads of fun online, but I currently can't play online until my network adapter arrives.

I found the story line to be a big heap of bull shit tbh, wouldn't be so bad if this aspect of the 'game' wasn't such a big feature. Like somebody commented, the Italians were very, very annoying and detracted quality from the game for being unoriginal and annoying characters. The city seemed really small to me, with none of the promised 'interactivity with more buildings?'

It was a good game though, the driving is probably actually more enjoyable than previous games.. although only being able to look behind you and not having a side view of your car like previous GTA's is pretty annoying, especially when you're trying to find certain buildings etc.

The friend thing is stupid, clearly catered for people who don't have friends in real life. Rofl, going to a show with a Rasta or having 'Brucie' aka annoying steroid freak complain at me when I take him to Burger Shot... I think the game went a little too far to cater for the socially inept.

The safe houses were a step backwards too imo, I mean where was the 'option' to buy certain houses even like the ancient Vice City game on ps2? Everything seemed to be condensed to make the game a movie... and I like gameplay, not movies when I play games.

Having said that, the achievements are good in this game, definitely less frustrating than a lot of others games, like Saints Row which would require job type hours to get the full 1000.

I don't know how the game got 10/10... both Oblivion and GOW are far better games than this.
