I remember talkin to my mate about GoW, Halo 2 and Halo 3... he was saying GoW completely outclassed Halo 2 and that Halo 3 whould be shit.
Stupid thing is... most some people don't realise a few differences between them.
Halo 2 was made for the XBOX whereas GoW was made for the 360 so obviously the graphical differences would be HUGE as well as the gameplay because GoW was made to outclass any other FPS style game out there, which it did.
I have a feeling that due to the massive success of GoW Halo 3's launch was pushed back into order for the game devs to try and make sure Halo 3 is up to scratch in order to take GoW on and win. If it doesn't then the Halo franchise would be buggered. I reckon a lot of people will buy Halo 3 to finish off the set, even those who are slamming Halo 2.
Just because GoW was more successful than Halo 2 doesn't mean GoW will still outclass Halo 3, it's natural that new products will be superior to other, earlier products in the market.
Halo 3 will be on par with GoW if not a lot better because this time it's made for the 360 so graphically it's already on the same level as for gameplay it will have to improve greatly in order to beat GoW.
GoW 2 will probably beat Halo 3 but that's because it's made after Halo 3 so the company making GoW 2 will be able to compare it to Halo 3 in order to do so.
Even though my mate dislikes Halo 2 now... because his newphew became much better than him at head to heads and slayer, he will still buy Halo 3 and he will begin raving at how ace it is... til his nephew outplays him again lol.
GoW is a good game... great campaign but wayyyy too short, I think they saw that they made a good campaign even though it was short and then just left it to concentrate on it's 'live' performance because that's where most games lifespan lie. IMO GoW on live is at times is slow and often too stand off ish. it's max capacity is only 4 vs 4 which seems a bit small for some maps *shrug*
