Some stupid assembly @ my school today with all these skits and stuff demonstrating honesty and integrity and all that shit, and they tried to make them funny, and relatable to kids.
2 Halo realated jokes.

"What!? How could the hampster die! I fed it Coke and played HALO with it just like you said!" (The stupid kids all laugh.)
And then a whole bunch of references to Iron Man and Rock Band.
Srsly, are kids really buying this stuff?

Short answer no. While it does help relate it to something they know, most of the time it's done in a method that makes it so that it's not relatable. It's like your grandmother trying to talk to you about what's the best rap group that's out the currently preforming.
