I think that valhalla is too big and there are rivers for people to hide in and use as trenches , blood gulch was like, wide open and great for a simple rocket launcher duels down to even 2v2 ... tbh, i get lost in valhalla sometimes

That's exactly why it was taken out. Wide open hockey arena like schmo said. the environment of Valhalla allows players to take cover in the middle of an open field. The compartmentalization in Valhalla can restrict some fights to be close quarters, but its not to closed such that a sniper can support from across the map.

I LOVED Blood Gulch, but I must admit that Valhalla has it beat in terms of level design. It is superior in every way:

1) better cover
2) better driving lines
3) better balancing of the land near the bases
4) isn't as daunting (or large) when you are on foot

Don't get me wrong... in terms of fond memories, you can't beat blood gulch. Halo1 started it all.
