You mean 16 player FREE FOR ALL?
No, no playlist includes this. It must be custom. 8v8 Big Team Slayer comes up in Ranked Big Team and Social Big Team. That's the best you can get outside of customs.

16 player custom games are usually lagfests (maybe it's just me?!). I've noticed 8 to 10 players usually keeps the game relatively lag free, unless of course you have someone with a bad connection.

^Well said, Anthony. I have had 12 to 13 people in lag free ZOMBIES games, but I wouldn't test it in any sort of "competitive" gametype.
EDIT: Good question/thread. I moved this to the Halo3 section where it needs to be.

Would this large group work in linking as well, besides having to go online?

If you mean a Lan party, yes. You would just need 4 consoles for 16 players. I actually do this quite often. 16 player Lan parties are some of the greatest fun I ever had playing games.
