Newbie question on voice chat
Friend has brought round his '360 tonight and we're playing Halo 3 at the moment, some reason we cant work out how to chat in-game.
We have the headset plugged into one of our pads but we can't seem to work out how to voice chat.
The controls are default as it's a new game, I thought it was pushing in the D-Pad but the "I" icon doesn't change to something that looks like " (((I))) " as it shows in the manual.
Appreciate help

Try pushing the headset in farther, and make sure you mic is not on mute. That is all i can think of

We managed to chat in the gameroom before the game starts, but when in the game it wasn't working.
I'm pretty sure both of those were fine, we checked the Xbox and Halo settings to make sure voicechat wasn't muted and that its allowed.
Dont know what was wrong, is it definitely push the D-Pad in to voicechat?

If your in a custom game and on different teams, you will not be able to talk to each other. In custom games or matchmaking the D-pad is the button to talk except for when there is 8 or less people in the room, then you don't have to press anything

I see, weird it just wasn't working. There was 3 of us playing on the same console on Halo 3, one of us had the headset but couldn't seem to be able to voicechat to all the people in the game. Only just before and after the game started/ended.
Anyone had this problem and has overcome it?

I suppose it does and it doesn't, as I didn't know that, but the headset was still in the main controller which was signed on with a live gamertag, not a guest.
Anymore thoughts please?

Sometimes my mic goes out randomly like once a month (in lobby/game) and I just restart my console and it fixes it. Not sure if it's the same problem though.

I've no idea to be honest if that was it, I'm pretty sure we restarted the system as Live didn't work until we did, and if I remember right the headset/mic was attached at that point.
Hell I dont know.
So it's definitely, PUSH IN THE D-PAD to talk, right?
