sounds awful, people have tried hard to get promoted to say commander and now its gone down the drain?

It hasn't gone down the drain. It's seperate to your skill rank and it's only for each playlist. So if you're an EXP General in Team Slayer but really only a skill 35 then your service record won't say you're a General and no one will think of you as one.

I doubt there will be 2000 Gs up for grabs. The ones displayed total to 250, plus the other 500 seen at PAX by players.

They have said multiple times that there will be NO MORE armor perms in Halo3 as it will take wayy to much time to code and test. They would rather work on DLC maps and their new projects. The armor perms are fine anyways. lol
