Will Halo survive these next few months?
All the Immense games of the year are coming out within these next months, Can Halo Remain popular against Fable 2, Fallout 3, GoW 2 & Halo Wars etc. etc.

I'll deffinetly stay, even tho i wanna try the new games. I think People will still stay with halo because people who play halo are usually halo fans. Most likely population might drop abit but with this new update and achievments it wont drop much,

gears 2 will dethrone it on XBL, probably for a LONG time
but Bungie will combat that with these new achievements as well as this "mythic" pack, and then news of Halo 4 which will launch with the "Xbox 720" for lack of a better term, will re-excite the Halo faithful

No it will increase more. They are probably going to release something big on their anniversary.

Yes.
With more DLC and an incredible auto-update and playlist tweaking coming out, it will always succeed and stay on or near the top of the XBOX LIVE most played list until the next Halo game comes out.

Obviously not a halo fan and not someone who looks at the statistics of the Halo franchise and most played online games.
Like Tufo said, yes it will last past all these games coming out. The only one I can see putting a dent into Halo 3 is Gears of War 2. Most of the others are played by people who aren't shooter fans anyway and if they do play Halo play it limited to a few occassions. It could be just a small spike and then Halo will regain or it could stay on top, it really depends on the game. Gears of War is going to have to fix some of the things that were wrong with the first and expand the limited multiplayer they had to keep the player base, as they set themselves a high bar with the first game. Really this it's going to be a make or break game for Epic's franchise.

Halo has always survived all the shooters that come along. As far as any non-shooters, they aren't going to keep halo fans away for long.
Halo 3 will reign well into COD5, GoW2, even COD6 days! Quote me on that.
It isn't the best looking graphically, but it's gameplay is highly addicting and reliable, and most important of all, Bungie cares about their community more than any game company that I know of. The only thing they love more than Halo are the people who make it great.
Because they love us, we get DLC for years after the game releases and we get constant upgrades to matchmaking and playlists, etc. This shows how much they really care about Halo, and are willing to support it for YEARS.
