Halo 3: Recon is 2 very different things on one disc.
1) It's an expansion to the Halo campaign where you play as a lone ODST in typical halo FPS-style.
and
2) It's extra multi-player maps for Halo 3 proper.

okay so before doing anything else on this thread, hop on over to this link Bungie.net : Inside Bungie : News and read all about the new Halo 3: Recon.
it answers questions about the multiplayer and campaign and all different stuff..
thing i think is cool is that someone with halo 3 who get the new mythic maps early 2009 can play multiplayer with someone who gets the mythic maps in halo 3: recon when it comes out in fall 09.

Don't want to ruin the fun here, but it's still a year away. Don't build up excitement up too high cause we really don't know what to expect yet. Except a new campaign.

Halo 3: Recon
Its official bungies next project is Halo 3 Recon. I'm guessing this will just tell the story from a marins standpoint, and add some new weapons like the one hes holding in the trailer, which is pritty cool.

Is it just me, or in the full length trailer, did they take out the frame where it says "Maddie, where are you?"?

it looks okay. but those covenant are hard enough on legendary with energy sheilds and a gigantic drug induced spartan body. now we get to play as those marines with the lifespan of about 15 minutes? easy way to add 30 hours of campaign in maybe three minutes, lol.
