This is my first review so I apologize if its crap.
Anyway, The club, is it any good? Well first off when it loads up you start off looking for the coin slot on your 360. It reminds me of the old arcade shooters I used to play. It is an old school shooter wrapped in this generation’s graphics engine. There is no story, a basic one; basically you are stuck in various areas & ordered to fight your way out of them. Ordered by some block that gets off by betting on who will win by surviving the game. That’s about it..But then you wont care, trust me.
Anyway on the graphics, I would give this 7.5/10 the level’s could be better. They are very brown and grey, basically dark & bland. Not really much to them. But the facial animations on your playable characters are very good. & The movement on all characters is also good.
Sound. 6/10. Rubbish really. The music is dire; you would be better of with drilling your eardrums out. Again it is pure arcade music, like the old street fighter, or day of the dead shooter games. The sound of the guns could be better. But it is still good. With this game there is a fairly meaty sound to all the guns. From a whizzing rapid noise from the Uzi’s, to that heavy blast that you should feel from the automatic shotgun. & Do I have to say what the minigun sound’s like? Most of us have watched Predator or the matrix. We know what that badass gun sounds like.
Game play: 8.5/10. This is what the game is about. The club doesn’t try to keep you playing on one level for hours on end. Instead it makes you play for short five/ten minute burst.

It has essentially four different game styles.
1. Sprint- Sprint pits you against an ever ticking clock, you have to make it to the finish before the time ends, or you die. & You obviously have to rack up as much points as possible.
2. Time attack-This sees you earning time & points with every kill you make, & along the way you can pick up bonus time. In order to finish you need to do a certain number of laps, like a race, but on your own.
3. Siege-This has you defending a specific location for a certain amount of time. Very simple but you only get a certain amount of health packs to pick up. & Once you have used them they won’t respawn.
4. Survival-This forces wave upon wave of people on you, but you have to stay within a certain location, very much like siege. But as the time counts down more & more people advance upon you. But unlike siege you have health packs that respawn. It can get fast & frantic but this is my favourite game style.
Of course you play these on single player to unlock the maps for everything else. There are 8 levels with about 6-7 maps each. Once you have unlocked the maps you can play them in a SINGLE EVENT. Which is just what it say’s it is. It’s really just to practice or get a higher score on a certain level and to post it on the leaderboards.
You also have the GUNPLAY. Gunplay lets you play it how you want. I.E you chose the map/s and how many they’re are, the game style, the weapons & the difficulty.
Of course there is multiplayer, which I will get on to later.
The way to get more points is not just to kill a load of people. Its how you kill them that gets you the points. That is the way they are multiplied. For instance with the press of the A button you do a roll. So if you roll and then shoot someone straight away you get more points for a “Death roll” Or if you press Y you do a quick spin, so if you do that & then shoot you get a “snap shot” You also have “headshot” “crack shot” & loads more. All these give you more points than just shooting people.
Of course as soon as you stop killing your multiplier starts to drop and you need to shoot someone to keep it going.

There are 8 characters to choose from. I would give you all the details but I cannot remember them all. Sorry. However you only get the choice of 6 at first. You have to unlock the last 2 buy playing the game. They are different, rated by stars on three different categories: 1. Speed. 2. Strength. 3. Stamina.
A few are strong on strength but are really slow, but although that can help you on game styles like siege or survival, on time attack it can be hard. & The of course the opposite is said for those ones with high speed but low strength. You can string together massive multiplier but get shot close range more than a few times & it’s game over.

Single player difficulty is a bit weird in my opinion. There are 4 difficulty levels you can choose from. 1. Casual. 2. Reckless. 3. Insane. 4. Real.
A trained monkey could beat the AI score on casual. But on reckless, the difficulty level is so far beyond casual it’s a bit strange. It will take the average gamer at least a week to get 1st place on reckless. Or maybe am just rubbish.
On insane you don’t need to finish in the top 3 to complete it. You will still get the achievement for completing that level on insane. Which I feel is a bit unfair.
Anyway…The guns!! Yes the important part. You can carry as many as you like so there is no limit.
Pistols are really good in getting headshots, even from far away, so I like the pistols in this game & use them a lot. Its one of the few shooting games I would. You get 4 pistols
1. Callahan 357: A magnum style gun, very powerful but doesn’t have many bullets & takes a while to reload.
2. Hammerhead. Just like the Callahan but has a bigger mag. It’s the best pistol imo.
3. Club special. Standard 9mm does what you would expect. Loads of ammo lying around so you tend to use this one more often than the others.
4. Hornet SP. An Uzi really. Unloads its mag faster than you can blink, great fun to use.
Shotguns:
1. Punisher. Standard double-barrelled shotty. Close up it will kill anything, but I don’t like it, as it’s hard to aim & has a weak range of fire. You have to be so close in order for it to be any good.
2. Defender. An ok shotgun, 8 shells, standard rate of fire and reload time for a shotgun. Can’t say much else.
3. Enforcer. Now this is a gun! Bloody good, 20 shells & It’s an automatic shotgun so you just keep that trigger held down. My favourite Shotgun.
Sub machine guns:
1. Scorpion. Standard small auto machine gun, has a decent rate of fire, but doesn’t hold many bullets.
2. PD9 Black widow. Great gun. The best in the game. Powerful, high rate of fire, good at long range. But does take a while to reload.
3. M5 Deathstalker. Just like n MP5. Good rate of fire but not as good as the Scorpion. But does have a bigger mag & an optical zoom.
Assault rifles:
1. Raptor. Good at close range. Bad at long distance. I don’t like it, but there are loads about.
2. Phoenix. Good gun. Does everything well. Reload, rate of fire & range.
3. AGU Spartan. Good long range weapon not that fast fire rate. But not bad. Powerful so get a few good placed shots & their down.
4. SNIPER RIFLE: Dragon Elite. The only sniper rifle in the game. And when I heard this was here I thought “was is the bloody point” this is not the kind of game you can sit still & pick people off, in single player or Multiplayer. But believe it or nor, it works great. Just a few shots anywhere on the body & they will be down. And it doesn’t take any time to zoom in and fire, as it’s an automatic.
Heavy weapons:
1. Hydra MG. Classic mini –gun. Just like from the predator & matrix films. You cannot run with this but when you have it, you won’t need to run, everyone else will. I personally don’t like this weapon on multiplayer, as it takes no skill.
2. Zeus RG. Standard rocket launcher. Not much needs to be said on this.
That is all the weapons. Sorry if I bored you. But none are crap to be honest and all fit well. They did a good job choosing weapons for this game.
Multiplayer: 8 people can play. It gets even more fun on MP. There are 8 game modes to play.
1. Score match. The first player to hit the score target wins the match.
2. Hunter/hunted. One person is the hunted & everyone else is the hunter. Kill the hunted to become the hunted. & Try to stay alive for longer than anyone else. Great fun & can be an excuse to for everyone to shout abuse at the hunted. Haha
3. Kill match. Host sets the kill amount & the first person to that wins. Simple.
4. Team siege. Defend an area for the longest time you can. If you die, you don’t respawn, but the attacking side can always respawn. Once you lose you swap sides.
5. Team capture. Guide your team’s fox (One player is the fox.) to the enemy base to score points. But you have to defend you base also. I’ve not tried this one yet, so cannot comment if it’s any good.
6. Team skull shots. Locate the enemies’ skull shots & destroy them whilst defending yours. I don’t like this one personally.
7. Team kill match. Same as kill match but with teams, duh.
8. Team fox hunt. Hunt down the enemies fox whilst protecting yours. One player is the fox & if he/she dies it changes.
To round up, Yes it doesn’t have the production values of some of the big hitters like COD4 or Gears of war etc, and that might put some off. I know how some only like games that look & play like movies. But this game has so much to offer. Please shop around, I picked it up for less than £30/$60 and it was worth it. Even if I stop playing this in the near future I know that later on down the line it is the kind of game I will shove in for a quick blast of adrenaline.
Again for scores:
Graphics: 7.5/10
Sound 6/10
Gameplay 8.5/10
Total 8/10. For a quick blast of no brainer action you find it hard to pick up a better game.
