The Godfather: My Review (even though its late)

I know The Godfather is one of the older games for 360 but I finally beat it. Its not that the game takes so long, I just didn't own it until a few weeks ago.

Anyways here we go:

Graphics 7.5:10 I wasn't incredibly impressed with the game's graphics during gameplay. However, during video's and key scenes the graphics were very good for an early game on the system. I enjoyed the accurate wardrobe of all the characters, Sunny, Fredo, Al Pacino, Brando.... The gore of the game was pretty good while playing on my HD-TV. The only downside was that it seemed as if the developers did not spend much time developing a "gorgeous" city as seen in GTA:4 and some of the cut scenes (i.e.: the final scene getting promoted to Don of NYC. The graphics of NYC were amazing. If the city could have looked similar to that during gameplay I would have given the game a much higher score).

Gameplay 9:10 This is one of the games biggest strengths. The gameplay is amazing. I loved driving as it is actually enjoyable since your not spinning out terribly while making fast turns but at the same time you make a realistic drift. I never had any problems with shooting and thought that the gameplay was awesome.

Plot 8.5:10 If your a diehard Godfather fan like me you will love this game. There are many key pieces from the movies that your character is sent on missions and there are some great missions added on the way to becoming Don. The plot is very strong and sometimes I felt like I was in the movie. The only key downside was that "side missions" seemed to get repetitive, I thought they could have come up with some more creative side missions. Other than that the plot was very solid.

Overall B+ This is one of my favorite games on the 360. I am a huge fan of the trilogy and really enjoyed what they did with this game. I almost gave the game an A- but was still a bit upset with the lack or creativity with side missions. The customization of your character is very solid. You can customize everything from the face, chin, ears, legs to the clothing and hair your character represents. I was a bit upset that you could not build a relationship with any characters along the way as you can in GTA:4. But enough comparing it to GTA:4, this is a great game for $20 which is the market price now and I would suggest buying this game if you a fan of the movies.

Nice review. Post it in the sticky at the top of this sub-forum.

I playe dit on the PC and yes the side missions are ridiculasly repitive, good game overall though - I agree with you.

True, but what games like this aren't? GTA and Saints row very repeptitive.
