This years Madden is AWESOME!!

Well EA, for all the years of crap you've made us Madden diehards (bought and played every since the original madden came out) stomach over the last 4 years of this game, it looks like some improvements have finally been made, let me fo over them:

1) You finally again (after over 3 years) have the option of using a camera angle that allows you to see the edges of the field. Now you actually have situational awarness of the entire field again. Why the HELL did it take almost 4 years to add this feature???

2) Tackling has finally been fixed. No more shooting through a tackle as if you were a ghost when another teammate grabs the tackle a split second before you. You can actually continue to add on and even change the direction based on your size, angle, and speed of your hit into the pile.

3) User coverage of a WR has finally been fixed. No longer will a WR consistantly burn you every cut, you can now keep up as long as you are careful with your coverage.

4) The Laws of Physics has finally been applied to this game. What I mean is no longer can you sprint full out left, immediately change 180 degrees to the right and then back 180 degrees left and maintain full speed. You will now slow down, stumble, etc., mimicing real life moves. Finally...NO MORE SNOW SKIERS.

5) The OL finally behaves like they should....

6) The endurance of players actually goes down during drives....no more stamina forever, you really have to sub players in/out or risk injury or reduced play abilities. This to me was a huge impact as it really affects a game and your opponents choices and play style.

7) Holy crap.....computer kickers actually miss shots from time to time and even more awesome, defensive players can get in through your line and block kicks...especially the long shots due to the angle. I've been blocked twice during two FG attempts of 49 and 52 yards each.

All right, my fingers hurt from all this typing and their are more changes that really make this game go from medicore (as it was the last 3 years) to good. Only time will tell if this makes it to great or stays good, hopefuly EA continues to improve by re-doing the halftime show to show replays of other games during the week and add color commentary similar to what was in the ESPN 2K5 game. But as long as the haltime show is my biggest complaint....I'll be happy.

Interesting read, I was concerned about this game, when I bought 09, I though it was going to revolutionize the gameplay, but it didn't, the game pissed me off.

So it seems that tackling has been fixed, you can't do 30 yard QB sneaks, and I assume fighting for a single yard of 3rd down is a lot harder.

But what about the whole game concept. I mean, when I played 09, and previous games, Madden had this philosophy of making those who play hard, screw up, like out of nowhere you would fumble several times, or throw pretty close to well judged passed, and they get picked off all the time, while the crappier player get away with crappier passess most of the times and some time complete several long bombs. That's what pissed me the most: the random and annoying turnovers(where crappy players get to be on par with a good player, or even in a beter position, because the whole game is favoring him) and easy completing long bombs.

If that is fixed, then I might run and get this game.

Yes I agree Madden 2010 is great I've been playing it alot lately.

I have been a madden fan since 95 I believe, and this one is the best. I've enjoyed the last few years as well but they were never truly impressive. They tried things but nothing made me think wow like back in the 90's when every two years was a huge upgrade on graphics and every years was a huge upgrade on game play. Now its really fun to play. Everything is more realistic. The whole gameplay slowed down a nudge just to improve the realistic feeling. It really works. The fact that receivers sometimes slip a little when making cuts if it's raining will tell you just how much time they've spent on the little things. The best part is, that receiver will regain their footing and continue to run the route just like a real receiver would. It's just a small stumble. Everything is very realistic. I love this madden.

Sweet, Still havent bought this yet but plan on doing so withing the next week or two. Too busy with nhl10.

I think its one of the better versions but lacks certain elements from previous versions that I wish they included... such as the ability to tell a receiver to go left/right/come-back... while the QB is on the scramble. Also what happened to defensive play-maker? They should have included that as well.

Either way its a more realistic version except for the throwing short routes. You will commonly find that your QB throws short to his WR on shorter routes cutting across the field. This gets really annoying. And online gameplay sucks
