Madden '08 Freezing up in Franchise Mode

Can somebody help me with this?

I play the game quite a bit, in fact it hasn't left my console in a little over 3 months (I'm in 2010 in franchise mode). However, the past few weeks i've had issues with it freezing when I try to "Train Active Players" and now it won't even let me "Sim to next game"

I tried a couple other games: NCAA Football '08, NBA Live '08... and neither of those froze up on me at any time when I was loading/saving/deleting stuff. Madden doesn't freeze in any mode except for Franchise.

Any ideas on this?....... Somebody told me I had just worn the game out and needed a new one, but thought that was ridiculous since it was a disc. However, I could always be wrong because i'm still a Xbox Tech n00b.

Please help me so I can get back to my game!

does it freeze all the time? sometimes mine freezes when i train active players, but a system reboot and it will work.

Maybe you could try one of those cd repair kits to remove any scratches you may have on your disk. If this disk is loading at the time of the crash, then it may be your disk. Other than that can't help you.
