Repetition?

Hi everyone, not sure if this has been posted or not, couldn't find anything, but if it is just delete it or whatever it is you guys do.

But anyway, I love Mass effect, combat is very unique, dialogue and storyline are fantastic and just about everything else is perfect. I only have one thing that makes me want to stop playing all the time.. the side missions. In my opinion, they are very repetitious in the way that the planets are all exactly the same (for the most part) just with another skin thrown on it. It's always go to the destination on the planet and kill geth/maw/whatever with the mako then get out to see that it was a trap or whatnot. I think they could have spent a little more time with the side missions of the game, but thats just my opinion.

Any thoughts?

they are a little repetitive. Do some citadel side quests to mix em up, most of them are different and cool such as trying to help this guy make a machine that cheats the casino =) i thought that one was cool. And each one is pretty unique as each has their own mini story kinda.

to step up the difficulty and get more xp (like 3 times more) try killing all the stuff outta the mako, makes it much more challenging plus you get those levels even faster, also they offer a good opportunity to pick up more gear. but yes sometimes the side missions feel pretty repetitive especially when you are doing the collection ones (light metals, gases, medallions, etc.)

Yes the side mission do seem a bit repetitive, but as my roommate and I were discussing, if they had spent a lot of time on the little details of each planet it would have drastically taken away from other aspects of the game. You also have to think in terms of the game being a trilogy. If they had spent tons of amount of time making the first game all kinds of crazy cool then the other two would seem really repetitive. Find ways to be creative and the missions won't seem so repetitive.

I agree alot. Firstly, yes I LOVE this game..............in the actual "real" main game. It's really well done. But the side missions feel "patched on" just to add more "content". They are so repititive, pointless, and tedious, not to mention the barren and lifeless planets and same-old, that it's just sickening and it really puts me off playing the whole game. However, I have beaten it a number of times and love the actual game part. Hopefully they add more interesting, if perhaps fewer, worlds and sidequests. Still would've rather seen KOTOR3

Yeah the side missions are very similar. But mixing it up with differant character classes keeps it fun.

I don't quite find "land, go to targets, get off" any more fun as an adept than as a soldier.

Well landing, driving to the location, and leaving have nothing to do with you class anyway. Its the physical combat with the enemy's that it changes.

Well sure, but it's always the same repetitive bases, camps, etc, and enemies
