Manage Game = Automatic Loss?

I am not sure if anyone else has tried this in their dynasty or not, but I certainly won't get to play 162 games PLUS the playoffs before I get bored of this game. So I plan on pitching every game with my Ace (Carlos Zambrano) and then rotate between my other 4 starters. The rest of the games I want to do Manager Mode.

Last night I managed 3 games, all of which my starters gave up 8+ runs. I was smart about the calls I was making too. Pitch to the bad hitters, pitch around the good hitters and so on. It seems as if the ball is on a freaking tee. I think in those 3 games the 8 hitter has probably a total of 8 RBI.

Has anyone else tried this out? I might just go to Sim the games instead to save time if the pitchers are going to get rocked either way.

Same problem here. Simming didn't help much. I'm pitching pretty well now. I can keep the computer, usually, to about 2-3 runs. My batting is still awful though. The games in which I score I usually can only manage to scrape together 1-2 runs, so I continue to have 1 win to my name in MLB 2K8. As a result of my obviously poor playing, I decided to manage instead of play.

It's a completely retooled KC franchise, yet a KC franchise nonetheless, so you'll have to take this for what it is, but I'm half way through the season and I'm last in the league with like a 23-64 record.

I picked up Livan Hernandez, Bartolo Colon and Freddy Garcia out of free agency at the beginning of the season and not one of them has an ERA under 8.00. And I'm playing Pro difficulty if that means anything.

Nah, I simmed a few games last night and won, Dice-K had an amazing game. Although, I tore up my the BoSox. Traded JD Drew and Coco Crisp for Torii Hunter and Prince Fielder!!! AHAHHA!!! Think I got the better half of that deal. I love forced trades!

That's ok. I made a few trades myself, but they were fair ones. I acquired Phil Hughes from NY and Brian Roberts from Baltimore. I thought the Cubs were going to trade for B-Rob in real life but it ended up falling through.

Yeah, I don't really get into Baseball in real life plus, I hate JD Drew. Like, I really hate him. Everytime I've brought him up to bat he's struck out swinging. WTF!!!

Besides, I just play it for fun, not to have like a real life baseball sim.

Ha, I did the same thing in MLB The Show. Picked up Brian Roberts, got screwed and didnt have Fukodomi on the roster (Is he in MLB2k8?) so I had to do a trade for Ken Griffey (Hey its only fair, Cubs got screwed on that one). I also picked up Mike Piazza in the Free Agent pool to back up Soto. Soto was batting .750 till he got an arm tear in the second game.
