Retirements/free agents in franchise.

Has anyone else gone through an entire season and noticed the players who retired at the end of the year? I've got really good guys retiring at 35 or 36 (Derek Jeter retires at 35???) and Manny Ramirez (yeah, okay...). I've also got guys retiring as early as 26 or 27. Stud prospects in their rookie years are giving up the game after their first season.

Great contracts with years left, having good years in 2008, and they retire. This game has so many flaws it's not even funny.

That's not all. Did you ever notice some of the players that sit in free agency each year? Granted, you're gonna have some guys who are too old, asking too much money, whatever... but I don't care how much money Andruw Jones is asking for, SOMEBODY is gonna take him.

Every time I look at the free agent wire and I see an 80+ rated player just sitting there it seriously pisses me off.

I guess I'll have to keep holding out hope that, one day, somebody will make a franchise mode that doesn't suck total ass.

damn, that blows. i'm playing every game of my franchise so hopefully it will prolong this issue for me a while.

Yes, and when you let the computer sign FAs for you after the year is over, they sign players you don't even need screwing up young guys you've brought up to get any playing time.
