Age of Violence

All the movies of the last few years have been complete blood-baths. In 90% of the movie today there is pointless shoot-em-up, and blood spurting everywhere. I don't like the way the industry is going. Back in the day there were movies with great stories that didn't have to have any of that violence to be able to sell highly. Movies like Schindler's List was ok because it actually showed something. But what do these shooters actually show? NOTHING!!! Completely nothing. But people still like to go see them, because that is wha the children have been revealed to. I am beginning to think that the industry has gone down hill. Here are a few of the blood baths that I can think of.

1. The Departed
2. No Country for Old Men
3. Rambo
4. Shooter
5. Wanted

This kind of violence has been hammered into the minds of teenagers and have made them enjoy these movies. It is sad that the entertainment of movies has to have violence to appeal to the people.

The Departed was awesome as was Rambo.the rest were shitty and pointless to watch..and also there are way 2 many movies based on war or the army.for fuck's sake get over Pearl Harbour already

I know, right? All those World War II movies are getting old. We have seen them all before. All of the good war movies like Saving Private Ryan and Flags of our Fathers already tell a story. Nothing more needs to be made. In the future however, there will be some movies about Iraq.

yea u cant beat the classics such as saving private ryan..btw do u know of any new war movies that are coming out?

Not at the moment. There was The Kingdom that came out a little while ago. There was also Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of Out Fathers. There is In the Valley of Elah. Its about Iraq. Atonement I think is part war. Other then that no idea.

i watched flags of our fathers and kingdom..those movies were okay.but the best movies that never get boring are those of ben stiller and adam sandler.those guys are the funniest ever

Oh yeah, Ben Stiller and Jack Black recently made a "war" movie. That looked stupid, but it could be good.

ben stiller makes a movie good no matter how stupid the story actually is.i can bet that it will be a "war comedy" movie

old movies have violence too, depending on how old you're talking

pulp fiction and lock stock are 2 of my fav movies

neither are THAT violent but still amazing

scarface was pretty violent and thats an old film

i recently watched hostel part2 man it was sick at the end wen it showed her cutting off his bollocks and his penis

then ripping it off like omfg

haha saw are my fav movies for gore tho

iv been wanting to watch the shining recently ,aint seen that in time and damn those twins scare the hell out of me, movies never seem to scare me but the shining does i dont know how but maaan

So out of the "90% of the movies today" you can only name 5 movies? If the film industry had the technology we have today then most movies would have had blood and gore.

One of my favorite movies, Braveheart.
