Hip-Hop
So, I will crown myself the hip-hop aficionado around here. This thread is for all things hip-hop. My girl got me a new CD for my birthday, Awol One-The War of Art. It is fucking sick!! Awolrus is one of my favorite MC's and he definitely delivers. Even has a track with the Blastmaster KRS-One. So, if you're into underground with a West Coast feel, check him out.

Been listening to a lot of Nas lately. Illmatic is without a doubt top 5 classic albums.

Alright, I guess you're the person to ask then. I love older west coast rap, like pretty much everything from Death Row (Snoop and Pac era) Westside Connection and shit like that. FOr the most part, I don't really like newer rap, except Eminem, and some of his newer crew (Minus 50 cent, i hate 50 cent) Got any suggestions for me? Peace

^ Most of the new stuff can't touch old west coast rap. What about Dre? You didn't mention him.

Right now I'm listening to Diverse, Dead Prez, Dr. Octagon, Akbar, Binary Star, Lupe Fiasco, and Lil' Wayne.

The new Dr. Octagon or the original? Haven't heard the new but, without Automator I'm not sure how good it can be. Saw Kool Keith in his "Black Elvis" tour. Dude came out, ate 3 chicken wings, threw the bones in the crowd, rapped 4 songs and left. Shit was still tight as hell.
Shake..really not sure what to suggest. The Chronic is the greatest of all time for me. Try the new Nas and Jay-Z. As far as commercial rap goes they are at the top. Other than that I really don't listen to much that's not underground.
