Ah, it's alright. I've still got the new Slipknot cd...which I am constantly playing these days. I do like that cd quite a lot.

Sweet, I wanna pick that up at some point.
I wasn't a big fan of Psycho-social. Very Stone Sour-ish.

Well, I'm quite a fan of Stone Sour myself. Personally, I don't see many similarities between this Slipknot cd ad the Stone Sour cd's. This is a much heavier release overall than the Stone Sour releases.

So am I (A fan of Stone Sour)!
I felt the vocals on that track are very Stone Sour-ish, and not the usual way Corey sings for Slipknot.
I spose it's just me being picky, like alot of people are with the new Metallica album!

I got the Slipknot CD last week. I've got mixed thoughts about it. But then, I didn't like The Subliminal Verses at first, either. And now that's one of my favourite CDs of all time. This one will grow on me.
Just got the new 'tallica album so I'll listen to that on my crappy laptop speakers soon! I've bought every Metallica album released so far on CD so I'll be buying this one to go with the collection when it's released.
EDIT: Well I've had one listen through now. Kirk Hammett needs to be banned from any more solos. Seriously.
He's been getting gradually worse every album. He's going for speed and wah-wah, but he really needs to learn what scales and chords are. He holds all the wrong notes at the wrong times and it sounds completely wrong. And this isn't the first album where it's been like that, but it's the album where I've noticed it the most.
Other than his solos, the songs are pretty good.

IMO, every song on the new album.
The End of the Line being the worst.
It all went down from MOP IMO, where I started to hear him using the wah and very similar licks in every solo, and then it was continued in the Black album, through to ReLoad.
Near enough every Metallica solo played by Hammet ends in the exact same blues pentatonic phrases, just in a different key, or position.
It wasn't really noticeable until the Load era, where it really became obvious.
It still amazes me that someone who was taught by Joe friggin' Satriani can be so limited as to what he can play for the songs.

Yep like so many times before I agree with Nobuo Ri on most points, i actually like most songs on the album, some more than others, but I don't like My Appocalypse at all really.
So pleased with the new album despite the doubts caused by the singles.

Did you not read the post like 3 up? Many people are astonished how for being taught by Joe Satriani, he can be so uninventive with his soloing and his phrasing. Like Jimmy says, Hammet lands and sustains the wrong notes most of the time and his 'signature' wah is not a good thing, it ruins his solos.
