Not really. It shouldn't be rated any higher than it was rated the past few iterations. Other than the graphics, it's still been the same old NBA Live.

New demo looks good. Might pull the trigger and get Live this year instead of 2K. They seem more dedicated to fresh content and roster updates. I've been a big 2K fan since the Dreamcast days, but I was really disappointed with the online play last year.

They are putting tons of effort into LIVE 09. But the animations in that game still look bad and I'm not sure it's going to be as realistic as 2k9.

2K8 was obviously a big step up from 2K7, but there were little things about it that pissed me off. Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun with it, but the difficult lay-ups were ridiculous and the online server was always going OFFLINE.
I eventually picked up Live 08 and it was much better than I had expected. I hadn't played a Live game in years (like I said, hardcore 2K fan since the Dreamcast days), so I missed out on all the supposedly awful Live installments. There were definitely issues with Live 08 as well (Hope the floating ball shots are fixed this year) though.
I think I have decided to go with Live 09 based on the demo and what I have read about both games.

Has anyone seen the new Champion trailer on gametrailers? I'm ready to buy the game just by looking at that trailer alone. I love the song too.

live 09 looks sweet. I really wish nba 09 The inside was coming to the 360 to instead of just the ps3 ps2 and psp.

because i think it would be cool to do a story mode its basically a AMAZING super star mode.
