Finally picked his game up today (technically yesterday since it's 12:42AM here), and I am definitely enjoying the game. while I must admit the car models from the exterior are OK, but the interior views are amazing, much better than you would expect. If you don't use the interior view, then you are missing out of the gist of the game (since a ton of sensory effects went into it).

So, before I start the career mode, me and a friend decide to race on the Nurburgring. Who would've guessed that you could gain money AND points (used to level up driver and unlock cars) from racing a friends. Since the Nurburgring is such a long track, we racked up thousands of points, and I was already a level 5 (currently 11) before I started the career.

Good stuff here.

I need someone to do me a huge favour please...I'd love to buy this game but I can't drive on anything other than the sticks...ie left stick for left and right steering and right stick for accelerate and brake.

I took Burnout Paradise City back to the store because you couldnt stick drive and I don't want to make the same mistake with NFS Shift.

Ah hell, I bought it anyway....great visuals with the in car cam, not so sure about the drive though, seems quite "jerky". It's tweakable though so we'll see if that doesnt smooth it out a bit.....

Agreed, its very jerky, you turn in and back end slides abit then stops sliding and you go round corners like that.....i'm ready to trade it in..i made massive mistake in buying it based on screen shots only.....i hate this game!! everything is so over the top to the point of annoying, ok the core market of dumb kids with low attention spans its perfect for, look only 2 lap races in career mode!! WTF!! 2 laps!! no point, you dont race you just start ram to the lead then 1 min later race ends you move on....stupid stuff cluttering the screen to look all American like Brands Hatch would have all that cr@p around the curcuit.....

really annoyed i got suckered into this game.....race pro is p155 poor visually with so many bugs and mistakes...but man, this is poor if you are in anyway interested in serious motorsports...its jsut too unrealistic..

I've figured it out. If you use the in car cam the steering stick takes a nice slide. If you've ever raced one of the Formula 1 games you'll know what I mean, just gently slide the stick left and right and try and avoid snappy motions and its a very smooth ride.

It kinda makes sense because the in car cam seems to be what the developers are shouting about the most.

I've played NFS since day one and this is defo the best one since NFS III.

I run this game not perfect,first it is dead at logging into the game,second it is dead at test lap initial,why could this happen

Love the game. Racing from the cockpit is just immense.

I have to say I rarely drive from it though as I'm used to "far" camera. I find it easier being able to see the car and track.

It's the only game that i stick to the cockpit view. I don't like this game with the full car view, i feel as if i'm missing out on the real experience unless im in the cockpit view.
