Don't ask me why but Nintendo dosen't like online
Nintendo is not allowing third parties to have online.
Quote:
Nintendo does hate the internet. Just listen to SNK America president Ben Herman describe the Wii's current online situation:
Nintendo is still not letting Wii third-party publishers include online capabilities in their games and it doesn't look like they will during 2007.
If this is true, why the heck not, Nintendo?!
|
also this goes in tandem to shunning the third party...

But perhaps the biggest weakness of Miis at the moment is the lack of third-party support. According to EA producer Eric Chartrand, Nintendo hasn't released the necessary tools to put Miis into third-party games yet.

both of these are from http://kotaku.com
Nintendo has been like this for awhile with 3rd party developers, wtf is up with this? at this rate you'll only see decent games maybe twice a year.

They've pretty much lost me as a customer.
Mucked up again over online, so many flaws in the compatabilty and use of SD cards and there layout on screen for the channels.
Crap game list for 2007 up til Summer so I won't be buying anything Wii til Mario Galaxy come sout and that probably wont be til next year.

Nintendo just signed to have Gamespy govern and run their service. I haven't read the articles yet so don't quote me.....But Nintendo and Gamespy are partners.

As of May all developers will have the ability to impliment online modes in their games.
And as for lack of third party support, Ninty already has twice the ammount they did for GC.

It is in the Ninty magazine that they have decided to do this so they can ensure the quality of games is 100% and the content does not breatch their ethical code.
Other developers will be able to make online games but only through Ninty to enable them to regulate it properly as they are aiming their services at the family market first and foremost and the single person market secondly (ie, violent Blood and gore games after more user friendly games, but both will be coming to the Wii's online service).
