Exactly. The demand for these consoles is stil lhigh, whereas the supply is low. Therefore Nintendo can keep their current price no problem. As soon as supply increases and demand starts to decline, thats when a price drop is needed to increase the demand again.

Keep dropping the hints man. get her really interested in it. Say that you could play tennis against each other and it will help you both stay in shape etc

Well, the head of Ninty said he wanted it under $200. He has no problem selling them. I think they are fairly cheap to make. So, he could just do it because. In this next-gen war it's not necessarily the money made, it's the units sold. They'd quickly take over the 360 if they dropped it to $200. Then, they'd lay claim to being the victor of the next-gen console war.

Thats a good point actually. Theres not much in the console so they cant be that costly to produce. Most people that get a Wii have another console as well, and use the Wii as a party machine. So basically Wii does have the potential to be huge just because it is different to the standard consoles.

yeah i'd never EVER buy a wii as my main console but it just seems like a great "dicking around" machine. but £170 is too much for a "dicking around" machine.
i think november/early december will see a price cut of around £20-£30 or better bundles.

When I went out to get a wii a few months ago, I couldn't find a wii, but for different reasons.
PC World - Had one console only on release.
GAME - Just didn't sell them
Gamestation - *grunt, grunt, fart* was all they said/did
Woolworths - "What's a wii?"
HMV - You've come to the right place" and that's where my trail ended.

Just got one today! Couldn't resist any longer. It's great fun so far. Only got Wii Sports and WiiPlay but, loving it. Highly recommend. BTW, Target had like 10 today and BB had about 8.

Cool, I was at Target and Best Buy in my area this weekend and the shelves are still bare. I kid you not, I've not seen a Wii sitting on a shelf anywhere in the metro Detroit area yet.

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".
