Wii Freezing

I just got MySims and am noticing that it lags heavily, especially during the load sequences, but only for a few seconds and it just looks and sounds choppy.

The only other problem I've had with my Wii is when I first took it out of the box and set it up I put a disc in (yes, the right way) and the console took about 3-4 minutes to recognize it, and when I went to play it it said to refer to the manual and to unplug the Wii.. so I unplugged the Wii, left it sit for a few, plugged it back in, put it Wii Sports and haven't had a single hiccup until now.

I've been reading that a lot of people have trouble with lagging/choppy AV and freezing with MySims, but what do you think? Is it more probable that it's the Wii, or the game?

Wii sports never lags or freezes, neither does Sonic.

Also, if you return a Wii, what happens to the Wii points and VC items you have installed? .. can they be transferred to an SD card?

Send it back to nintendo saying its having problems.
