I second that man, however I don't count gold/silver to be original. Red, blue and yellow is as far as "Original" goes for me. Those games were awesome.
Everything after that was just re-hashing of the same thing and sad wannabes.
Yeah I'm 22, the games are still awesome.

I used to be crazy about Pokemon. I loved the "true" games (Blue/Red/Yellow) and the "extended" list of Pokemon (Gold/Silver/Crystal) wasn't bad either. After that, I lost interest. Pokemon was a great idea when it had a solid number of Pokemon (150 excluding "secret" Mew) and it wasn't ridiculously huge. I remember memorizing pretty much every original 151 Pokemon, many with their number and type. I also watched the TV show and had the Pokemon cards too (still have them somewhere, haven't been touched in years).
Then I just lost interest in it altogether...haven't played any of the GBA or DS ones, but I've heard they're good so maybe I should try sometime.

I'm a fucking nerd? Excuse me, but what's wrong with saying that I loved pokemon back then? I bet tons of kids were obssessed with pokemon so I don't see how I'm a fucking nerd. People nowadays play halo and Call of duty obsessively and they say they love the game and describe why. What's wrong with elaborating? An indepth post is better than some worthless post with three words in it. I'm not a fucking nerd. You are a fucking dumbass, that's the problem.

not gonna lie I'm 18 and still love Pokemon
currently playing Pearl and it is an amazing game, give it a go if you haven't played since red/yellow/blue because you can jump right back in without missing much.

I agree completely. I've been getting back into the Pokemon phase recently just for its pure simplicity.
Been playing the Pokemon games on the DS, bought the game for the Wii, and haven't been disappointed.
