Does the Wii run in 16:9 or 4:3?
It looks like I am going to get a Wii next week. My wife wants one and after I played Mario Kart I want one too. One of the things that are most appealing to me is the old games you can get.

I have a Ps3 and 360. I have a 42' Pioneer Kuro.
Obviously those run in the 16:9 format. What about the Wii? Am I going to have the black bars on the sides on my plasma?

Also does it use composite or components to hook it up?

You can buy components but it only comes with the regular red yellow and white cables. I don't know about the screen format though.

it can display 16:9 or 4:3, but definitely buy component cables with the system. with a tv your size, the regular a/v cables just WILL NOT cut it.

I Concur. I have a 45" HD tv & it looks alot better with component cable.

I can't really tell the difference between component cables and regular cables with my Wii.

I just don't think there is much of a difference between 480i and 480p.

When you have a big TV the components help alot. Wii still looks like crap but its better.
